Bake Off is Back!

I know you might think that the summer seems a long way off, but Bezza and I are back to brighten up the dismal winter’s nights. But instead of our usual batch of bakers, this crew might be a bit more familiar to you all. Yes it’s The Great British Sport Relief Bake Off! As usual the Bake Off crew and I were in absolute hysterics filming these special programs which we hope will encourage you all to donate to this very worthy cause. The first episode has just been screened but if you missed it you can catch up on the iPlayer.

Back to reality I am finishing up filming for my new show #CityBakes which will be out later this spring on The Food Network channel. Keep an eye on my Facebook for details of when this will be being shown. I am so excited for you to all see this new show, which sees me travelling to cities round the world meeting and learning from some truly brilliant local bakers.

Merry Christmas

Can you believe it is actually Christmas!? This year seems to have just flown by and I feel like I have hardly had a chance to sit down. This last month or two has been particularly crazy since I have started filming my new series, Paul Hollywood City Bakes. In the last couple of weeks I have visited the US and baked in Miami and New York, which was amazing, and then just last weekend I was lucky enough to take part in the inaugural BBC Good Food Show Dubai. I have to say a massive thanks to all the brilliant folk who came to the show. We had so much fun and I really loved Dubai.

On top of all of this I have launched my new range of ready to bake bread rolls. The feedback so far has been incredible, I am so glad you are enjoying them. I love baking bread from scratch but even I sometimes don’t have time and these rolls give all the flavour of homemade bread with out any of the work.

Now I am finally getting some time off. A week or two with my wonderful family and hopefully a white Christmas! But first I just want to say a massive thank you to all the amazing people who watch Bake Off, follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and send me pictures of your fabulous bakes. It really makes me happy to see how many of you enjoy baking. I hope you all have a brilliant festive season and a very happy New Year. Here’s to a brilliant 2016!

City Bakes

Apologies for not writing sooner, but if any of you are following me on Facebook or Twitter you will know that I have hardly had a chance to stop over the last month as I have started filming my new show City Bakes. The show, which will air next Spring on The Food Network, sees me travelling to cities all over the world visiting local bakeries and meeting the bakers who work there. So far I have been baking in Copenhagen, Munich, London, Madrid and Paris. Further details of the show will be out soon, but till then keep an eye on my social media for glimpses into my travels.

When I have not been travelling for the show I have been up and down the country baking with my fabulous partner in crime Mary for the BBC Good Food Shows. We baked lots and met lots of wonderful people in Glasgow and then in London, and next weekend we will be travelling to Birmingham to do more of the same. What’s really exciting for me is this year I will be baking at the first ever BBC Good Food Show Dubai in December! A little bit of sunshine will be very welcome now the weather appears to be getting properly wintery.

I really enjoy the Autumn food shows as I get to start doing some festive baking.  Last weekend it was Stir Up Sunday, which I think officially kicks off the festive baking season. So if like me you love a homemade mince pie or love to feed your Christmas cake, then I officially encourage you to start now (and yes I know it’s not December yet)! Check out the RECIPE pages for two different Christmas cake recipes, including a festive brownie, a classic mince pie recipe and an alternative frangipane one, not to mention my Christmas Leftover Pie, which is the ONLY thing to eat on Boxing Day.

Hollywood Bakes are Baked!

I am so very excited to finally tell you all about a secret project that I have been working on for a while . . . #HollywoodBakes. I know lots of you love to bake your own bread, but often don’t have time to do it regularly, so I have crafted a range of wholesome, ready-to-bake bread rolls which will bring a bit of Hollywood magic to your kitchen! There are seeded, multi-seed and crusty rolls to start and they can be found in Waitrose, Ocado and selected Tescos. I really hope you like them.

So #GBBO is over for another year and what a series it was. As usual our bakers raised the standard for home baking yet again and Mary and I were both thrilled to crown Nadiya Bake Off Champion 2015. Don’t forget if you fancy baking in the tent next year you can apply HERE.

I have another secret project starting shortly, which means the next few weeks will see me travelling here, there and everywhere.  I wish I could tell you more, but I can’t, although I can say it will involve me trying a lot of interesting International bakes! Keep an eye on my Facebook for more clues coming soon!

If you fancy seeing me bake live and you can travel to London or Birmingham then you are in luck, as I will be appearing at two of the BBC Good Food Show’s this autumn. Firstly I will be at the London show on the 13th, 14th & 15th of November and then two weeks later I will be in Birmingham. Joining me on stage will be my favourite TV judge Bezza! Finally just before Christmas when the weather is getting super dreary in the UK I am jetting off to Dubai for my first ever appearance at the BBC Good Food Show there. I am so excited about this and can’t wait to see all of you who live out there. Will it be too hot for a mince pie or two?! For more details on these shows check out my calendar.

Summer is over . . .

Well it’s now September and I think we can all agree that summer is officially over pretty quickly this year. Isn’t the weather rubbish! I have had a jammed packed August, with a fabulously sunny trip to Cyprus with my family and then I rushed back for Carfest South & The BBC Good Food Festival at Hampton Court. My trip to Cyprus meant I could treat myself to some of my favourite local bakes. Having previously worked in Cyprus I am very familiar with most of the local delicacies and if you keep an eye on Bake Off you will see one of my favourites popping up in the technical challenge soon!

Carfest was brilliant fun as usual and I was lucky enough to not only check out some awesome cars, but also hang out with the fabulous Sharleen Spitari and Jools Holland. The weather wasn’t exactly brilliant for The BBC Good Food Festival on Bank Holiday Monday; however, I was under cover on the Summer Kitchen Theatre baking up some goodies for the fabulous audience so managed to stay dry.

As we approach the half way point of #GBBO the bakes are getting seriously good. I have to say I LOVED last week’s dessert episode as I love any opportunity to indulge in a bit of cheesecake, however, obviously Bread week was a standout episode for me. What did you think of Paul’s Lion!? I thought it was absolute genius and definitely a highlight of series 6 for me. This week we had a first for Bake Off as we get the bakers to try some free-from recipes. I get so many requests from people for recipes that are gluten-free, dairy-free and sugar-free so I am sure that this episode will be one of the most popular.

Delving into my past

So Bake Off has started and it seems that you guys still love it. A huge 9.3million of you tuned in for episode 1 to see us revive the Black Forest Gateau and we can’t thank you enough. We love making the show and have such fun in the tent, so we are chuffed to bits that you guys enjoy it as much as us. There will be no spoilers on my blog as that would ruin it for everyone, but keep an eye on my FB page for suggestions of which recipes you might want to have a go at and eat whilst watching.

This week is Biscuit Week and I will definitely be knocking up a batch of my shortbread to nibble on whilst watching. If you haven’t had a go at my recipe yet I really recommend it as it’s super easy and you can flavour it as you like. The recipe is here. It’s a particularly good recipe to make with the kids. I am sure lots of you are looking for ways to entertain them during the long summer holidays and I can safely say I have never met a kid who doesn’t enjoy a bit of baking (and eating!) biscuits.

This week I am on the telly two days in a row! After appearing on Bake Off on Wednesday night I am back on Thursday night on Who Do You Think You Are? I have always wanted to go on this show and was honoured to be asked by the BBC to take part. It was a privilege to be able to delve into my past in such detail and magical to find out such incredible facts about some of my favourite family members. I hope you enjoy watching.
