My new book is out!

Posted on: June 2nd, 2016 by Harriet Low No Comments

So The Weekend Baker is now out! I am so excited to finally share this amazing project with you all. And as usual you have all been so generous with your feedback and I am honestly thrilled that you are all enjoying it so much. I would love to know which are your favourite recipes from the book, it’s always so interesting to find out which recipes people choose to try first. Of course I would also LOVE to see pictures of your bakes from the book. Please send them to me on Facebook and I will try and show as many of them as possible.

Of course when anyone releases a new book there is lots of press that accompanies the launch and I have been lucky enough to have been invited on some fantastic programmes recently to talk about the new book. First I got to hang out with the incredibly glamorous Joan Collins on the Graham Norton Show and then last week I had a brilliant morning with Ruth & Eamon and the fabulous This Morning team.

Oh AND The Great British Bake Off just won another BAFTA!! So amazing and of course all down to you guys. Your love and support for the show just keeps it going from strength to strength. Not long to go now before series 7!

My own show City Bakes has just finished on The Food Network. I hope you loved it and were inspired to try baking something a bit different. If you missed the show it’s being repeated on Saturday nights so keep an eye on their website for times.

The Weekend Baker!

Posted on: May 1st, 2016 by Harriet Low No Comments

I am so excited to finally announce my new book Paul Hollywood The Weekend Baker will be out on 19th May. I am so proud of this book and it was such a joy to write. The book contains both sweet and savoury recipes inspired by the cities that I visited whilst filming my new show City Bakes. From Madeleines, and marble bundt cakes, to kale, cherry and cheese scones there are some really exciting recipes to be tried. One of the things that was most inspiring to me was how baking is very much still a family business all over the world. I come from a family of bakers so it was really special for me to meet generations of bakers from such different backgrounds.  I have wanted to write this book for a very long time, it sees me discovering baking cultures and amazing local recipes from ten amazing cities. I really hope you guys enjoy it and I would love to see your interpretations of the recipes in the book. So please post on social media and tag me and #TheWeekendBaker in your pictures.

I hope you are also all watching and enjoying my new show City Bakes on The Food Network. It was brilliant watching all the amazing bakers that I met showing me their signature bakes and top tips. And of course what an experience travelling round the world eating bread and cake. What a very lucky baker I am.

Big News

Posted on: March 15th, 2016 by Harriet Low No Comments

Apologies for not writing in a while, but I have had a big few weeks. A big trip with my family, a big birthday (50!) and this week a big launch. I am so excited that I can finally reveal my new range of #Hollywoodbakes to you all.

As you probably already know I’m passionate about inspiring more people to bake more adventurously. My new range of baking mixes are so easy to use and I am hoping will give people the confidence to start experimenting with handcrafted baking without the risk of failure. I really believe this range will inspire people to get in the kitchen and start baking.  They are really easy to use, with step-by-step instructions and some hints and tips which will allow you to step out of your comfort zone and try a bake that you’ve never tried before. There are 12 delicious artisan-style recipes, including a Garlic and Herb Tear ‘n’ Share Mix and Luxurious Belgian Chocolate Brownie Mix and only require very basic additional ingredients such as water, oil, eggs or butter. The range is available at Morrisons, Sainsburys, Tesco, Waitrose and Ocado.

I really hope that you enjoy them, please do let me know what you think. I would also love to see your finished bakes, post them on Instagram, Twitter & FB and tag them with #hollywoodbakes

Bake Off is Back!

Posted on: February 1st, 2016 by Harriet Low No Comments

I know you might think that the summer seems a long way off, but Bezza and I are back to brighten up the dismal winter’s nights. But instead of our usual batch of bakers, this crew might be a bit more familiar to you all. Yes it’s The Great British Sport Relief Bake Off! As usual the Bake Off crew and I were in absolute hysterics filming these special programs which we hope will encourage you all to donate to this very worthy cause. The first episode has just been screened but if you missed it you can catch up on the iPlayer.

Back to reality I am finishing up filming for my new show #CityBakes which will be out later this spring on The Food Network channel. Keep an eye on my Facebook for details of when this will be being shown. I am so excited for you to all see this new show, which sees me travelling to cities round the world meeting and learning from some truly brilliant local bakers.

If you want to see me bake in person rather than on the telly, then check out my calendar page, which has details of all my appearances at the BBC Good Food Shows coming up. I will be baking live and also appearing on the interview stage if you want to find out more about my life and my baking tips. The lovely folk at Good Food have kindly given some amazing discount codes so there’s even more reason to book tickets now!

Merry Christmas

Posted on: December 22nd, 2015 by Harriet Low No Comments

Can you believe it is actually Christmas!? This year seems to have just flown by and I feel like I have hardly had a chance to sit down. This last month or two has been particularly crazy since I have started filming my new series, Paul Hollywood City Bakes. In the last couple of weeks I have visited the US and baked in Miami and New York, which was amazing, and then just last weekend I was lucky enough to take part in the inaugural BBC Good Food Show Dubai. I have to say a massive thanks to all the brilliant folk who came to the show. We had so much fun and I really loved Dubai.

On top of all of this I have launched my new range of ready to bake bread rolls. The feedback so far has been incredible, I am so glad you are enjoying them. I love baking bread from scratch but even I sometimes don’t have time and these rolls give all the flavour of homemade bread with out any of the work.

Now I am finally getting some time off. A week or two with my wonderful family and hopefully a white Christmas! But first I just want to say a massive thank you to all the amazing people who watch Bake Off, follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and send me pictures of your fabulous bakes. It really makes me happy to see how many of you enjoy baking. I hope you all have a brilliant festive season and a very happy New Year. Here’s to a brilliant 2016!

City Bakes

Posted on: November 25th, 2015 by Harriet Low No Comments

Apologies for not writing sooner, but if any of you are following me on Facebook or Twitter you will know that I have hardly had a chance to stop over the last month as I have started filming my new show City Bakes. The show, which will air next Spring on The Food Network, sees me travelling to cities all over the world visiting local bakeries and meeting the bakers who work there. So far I have been baking in Copenhagen, Munich, London, Madrid and Paris. Further details of the show will be out soon, but till then keep an eye on my social media for glimpses into my travels.

When I have not been travelling for the show I have been up and down the country baking with my fabulous partner in crime Mary for the BBC Good Food Shows. We baked lots and met lots of wonderful people in Glasgow and then in London, and next weekend we will be travelling to Birmingham to do more of the same. What’s really exciting for me is this year I will be baking at the first ever BBC Good Food Show Dubai in December! A little bit of sunshine will be very welcome now the weather appears to be getting properly wintery.

I really enjoy the Autumn food shows as I get to start doing some festive baking.  Last weekend it was Stir Up Sunday, which I think officially kicks off the festive baking season. So if like me you love a homemade mince pie or love to feed your Christmas cake, then I officially encourage you to start now (and yes I know it’s not December yet)! Check out the RECIPE pages for two different Christmas cake recipes, including a festive brownie, a classic mince pie recipe and an alternative frangipane one, not to mention my Christmas Leftover Pie, which is the ONLY thing to eat on Boxing Day.

Happy Baking!
